I am in need of solid RB’s. Should I try to trade up in this years draft to snag Jeanty? okay so you got name bias because of the conference That's cool forget that there are so many great running backs that came out of terrible tiny little schools

Not to mention his offensive line was one of the worst in the entire college ranks. If you watched any of his highlights you know that that number 66 on the old line lived on the ground and he got regularly got hit in the backfield and still turned it into a huge play

Yeah I played too That doesn't mean you constantly were getting hurt.

There is a reason that the average career span for RBs in the NFL is <3yrs. Most don’t make it out of their rookie contract before they are done

Jeanty is special. No doubt.. but he’s still a RB

And that's fine but it's not because they get hurt more it's because when a RB goes down someone is able to replace with someone else who puts up some points. When a WR goes down it's extremely hard to just replace them.

If the WR is harder to replace, then wouldn’t that make their value higher?

Besides that's the avg NFL career in the NFL not just RB

Let me ask you, if Jeanty had this season last year and was in the ‘24 class. Would you have drafted him over MHJ or Nabers?

Right but we are not talking specifically about avg WRs either. We are talking about Ladd who finished his rookie season as a WR1 and MHJ who was the consensus 1.01/1.02 in one of the best classes ever

My reverence to avg WRs and avg RBs is only to establish the overarching difference in value of the position…

TE is a crap shoot. Laporta was rated the 5th or 6th best in his class and people aren’t letting go of a player like Bowers. You don’t need a stud TE to make a run.

Like Mark Andrews this past year. Going into the season he was top 2 with Laporta…both let you down big time

You need RBs with an emphasis on the “S”. I’d stand pat and accumulate prospects.

It’s too difficult to find a stud TE. Just get a couple Mid range guys and play matchups

Or Ladd or BTj or nabers.. all gold bars. Or Odunze, a gold bar that still has dirt on it

A player like Gibbs or Bijan from a competitive team who's at the top of your league can arguably be just as valuable as any of The top wide receivers. Because there are so few of these players that if you land one it basically becomes an automatic league winner. Yes you can get away with not having the best RB in the game, Just like you can get away with not having the best wide receivers in the game if you have better RB, QB or TE.

I see your point, just think it limits your win conditions. Fantasy is so largely centered around luck that as soon as you hit a certain critical mass of talent, it’s best to put your name in the hat and see if it gets picked.

Yeah I guess I just don’t think special WRs are as prevalent as you. They are just as rare as special RBs.

And we don’t know that Jeanty will be at the same level as Bijan and Gibbs. But to that I’ll ask you.. are you taking Bijan/gibbs over Chase/JJ/CD?

Think about the top 10 WRs right now Jj, CD, ST Brown, Puka, Nabers, BTJ, MHJ, Chase, Nico, Ladd, London. now think about the top RB Gibbs, Bijan. which one has more likely of a chance that you're able to get your hands on one?
