I am in need of solid RB’s. Should I try to trade up in this years draft to snag Jeanty? Or should I stick with what I have and draft an RB at the 1.06 Half Ppr 1.5 TEP QB: Stroud, Murray, Penix RB: R. Dowdle, R. Davis, I. Guerendo, E. Wilson, S. Tucker, K. Mitchell WR: MHJ, BTJ, M. Nabers, Odunze, Ladd, A. Mitchell, J. Burton, D. Wicks, D. Douglas, D. Vele TE:J. Smith, K. Pitts, Freiermuth, N. Fant, C. Stover 2025 picks: 1.06, 1.11, 2.05, 3.06, 4.06
Agreed You seem to think that this is some sort of an argument that like it's not. But again we've had two years within recent memory of running back heavy drafts like this It didn't change the landscape It added some good running backs most of them faded into obscurity with one generational guy.
Yes I know That's the 2017 season I was referring to
But 2017 is not 2025 when people don't take running backs early anymore people were still drafting running backs early in 2017 not as early on the regular but still drafting them early
Yeah I mean I wouldn’t say any year in recent memory carried the same promise and pedigree at the RB position as this year does
You just named one 2017. literally 2 years ago Bijan and Gibbs came out
Yes I know, Gibbs was an outlier. People were shocked the lions took him where they did. That class didn’t have near the hype as this years
In 2017 there were even higher touted running backs. and more of them Then this season.
2017 is the most recent that compares
Gibbs was not an outlier everyone had him projected at the one of the first picks in the second round because again the NFL has devalued running backs. The Lions went we're going to take the best player available and take the position of need as well. I could say they made the right decision
Yeah but you just said there is no running back class in recent history that has ever compared to this one and that's clearly not true
Obviously in hindsight they made the right decision. We arnt post draft yet, the perception then was they drafted Gibbs very very early to where he was projected
But that's the whole point In your opinion they drafted him early not the NFL's opinion. Not other teams opinion come to find out there were four other teams that were considering him in the first round The Lions grabbed him because they knew other teams wanted him
Huh, I didn’t backtrack on anything.
You can't go back and say oh well I meant this after you said something exactly not the same thing If you say there were no rookie running back drafts like this one in recent memory you can't then go well I meant pre-draft. And that's not true The 2017 everyone knew the running backs were going to be amazing. everyone agrees that this year is deep with running back but there are not amazing talent at the top like in 2017 other than Jeanty
Yes you did. If you say there's no running back class in recent memory that's as good as this one and I go 2017 where players are still playing from that class and then you go well other than that one that's literally backtracking
Right, in 2017, they said the class was very deep. It worked out and broke the trend of only a few guys hitting. This year they are saying the same thing and that the class loaded. And I believe that they outperform class averages and most of the top guys end up as HITS just like 2017
2017 is the only comparable class in recent memory.. if you call 8 years ago recent. Point is that no other class even sniffed the depth of talent that this year offers besides the 2017 class
And that doesn't change that some of the top guys were still busts in the NFL You can't say will trade for another pic and you're guaranteed to have two starting running backs that's not how it works
That’s why I think there will be a significantly above average of “HITS” at the position this year.
Allowing OP to find great talent with his 1.11 and 1.06 pick.
You can try to twist the things to make it sound like you weren't wrong but you were You made a statement It was wrong That's fine but then to try to twist it to say I'm not wrong because apparently 8 years is in recent enough for you doesn't mean anything and that still doesn't change the fact that you were also wrong on that I didn't say don't make the trade. All I said was that this trade that you are saying he could pull off isn't happening unless the manager is a numbskull.
The whole reason we are discussing this
Ok, well what’s relevant is the 1st rd picks that the OP has. The 1.06 and 1.11 and yes I think that he has a great chance of hitting on two RBs with those picks… and yes I think he can move one of his WRs for a 3rd RB and make a strong run at a championship this year.
Hey fella’s, Here is the 1.01’s team if that gives you any ideas QB: Burrow, B. Mayfield, AOC, Brissett, K. Pickett RB: Achane, Pacheco, B. Robinson, Charbonnet,N. Chubb, Jamaal Williams WR: Z Flowers, T. Higgins, W. Robinson, J. Palmer, A. Iosivas, M. Wilson, S. Diggs, G. Dortch, A. Pierce, Roman Wilson TE:G. Everett, Z. Ertz 2025 picks: 1.01, 2.01, 3.01. 4.01
